WOW!  $7600 was raised.

I spoke to the owner for a few minutes, and apparently they have this same winning attitude on the dance floor as they have been having the same successes in regional dance competitions. Stop over and say hi to the friendly people at Fabulous Feet.
I took a few pics, and you can see them in the gallery!
From the fabulous feet web site.... http://www.fabulousfeetdc.com/
On August 25, 2007 the DanceCares dancers & their families hosted a Alex's Lemonade Stand. We held a Chinese auction with over $3000 in merchandise & gift certificates. The highlights of the auction was the girls & boys bikes with helmets, Amethyst necklace & earrings (value$170), & the sporting event family ticket packages.
The day was filled with fun, face painting, tattooes, dancing & food & drink.
A special thank you to all of the families & businesses that donated to our great cause.
Thank you for helping us exceed
Thank you for helping us exceed our goal
$7598.49 was raised.

<trackback:ping>http://www.bellmawrblog.com/DesktopModules/DnnForge%20-%20NewsArticles/Tracking/Trackback.aspx?ArticleID=44&PortalID=15&TabID=312</trackback:ping>
Planned Parenthood Article - Courier Post

The Courier Post published an article on August 28th, about the growing controversy surrounding Planned Parenthood's use of a public building in Bellmawr.
Click [Read More] to read the Courier article. Unfortunately, they seem to keep articles available for a limited time, so this link may not work after a week or so.
This was also discussed at the recent Council Meeting. See my previous blog for information, including an upcoming meeting on this topic.
I am going to start putting more and more links to other Bellmawr articles on this site.... and will probably move some things around on the site to feature unique blog content seperately from news article links.

<trackback:ping>http://www.bellmawrblog.com/DesktopModules/DnnForge%20-%20NewsArticles/Tracking/Trackback.aspx?ArticleID=43&PortalID=15&TabID=312</trackback:ping>
Bellmawr Council Meeting - Aug 23, 2007

Well... after a several months hiatus, I make it back to a council meeting. This was a short one... only thirty minutes long, but it did have a lot of great information. New officers, Planned Parenthood meeting scheduled, Landfill project update, and a new Checkers fast food restaurant coming to town!

So here are my notes… not necessarily in order of the evening’s proceedings, but close to it…

http://www.nationalnightout.org/nno/
The progam is geared toward raising awareness of making our communities safer.
From the official site,NATIONAL NIGHT OUT is designed to:

    Heighten crime and drug prevention awareness;
    Generate support for, and participation in, local anticrime programs;
    Strengthen neighborhood spirit and police-community partnerships; and
    Send a message to criminals letting them know that neighborhoods are organized and fighting back.

I arrived late for Bellmawr's event, but was there enough time for to take some pictures as the evening was winding down. The entire time I was there, a large group of young entertainers performed song after song... all perfectly choreographed to the music. A small train was on hand to give rides to the kids. There were also clowns giving out balloons. Mr Softee was there, as well as hot dogs and refreshments.
Truthfully, since I only saw the end of the night, I don't know all that went on. If you have more information on this fun night, please post in the comments!

The weather held out nicely... while it was a little overcast, it was a cool morning for a parade in July.
